Tral, March 05 (KNO) : After searching for more than 9 hours contact was established between militants and government forces in tral town of South kashmir's Pulwama district. Official sources told KNO that contact was established at around 4:30 am on Tuesday after cordon was launched in the area on Monday evening at around 8 pm. Earlier few gunshots were heard in the area after which more reinforcement was rushed to the spot, he said. Local sources told KNO that exchange of fire continued for about one hour and the house in which militants were hiding has been blasted. Presently firing has stopped and search operation is going in the area. Earlier after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants, forces including 42 RR, 180 Bn CRPF and SOG of Jammu and kashmir Police launched search operation in the area. After searching for more than 9 hours and intensifying the search, towards the suspected house the hiding militants opened fire which was retaliated triggered encounter. Two militants were believed to be trapped there.(KNO)
